This year, you can register for a single session or book for the entire summer and receive a major discount. Check out all of the options below and see what fits best for you and your child.

Locations

This year's summer camp (2023) will be held at Hynes Hall at Kean University 1011 Morris Avenue, Union NJ.

Pickup and Drop Off van service from home is available to Union, Hillside, and Kenilworth for $9 a day.

Sessions and Dates

Session 1: July 5 - July 22

Session 2: July 24 - August 4

Session 3: August 7 - August 18

Camp will run Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (aftercare available from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.)

We will also be running off-site field trips every session. More information on the trips will be provided after registration.

Pricing

Tuition for camp this year will be charged by session.

1 Session (2 weeks) - $1320
2 Sessions (4 weeks) - $1600
3 Sessions (6 weeks) - $1850

Programs

Session 1: Photography & Art (Ages 7-15)
Photography - Learn how to operate a DSLR Camera, and edit your own photos using Lightroom & Photoshop. Build your own photography portfolio.

Art - This course covers drawing and painting. Students will create a self-portrait while covering different shading and coloring techniques. The learner will operate by using acrylic on canvas.

Session 2: Website Development & Film Making (Ages 7-15)
Website Development - Create and design your own website or blog. Students will create a page that is unique to each camper while learning how to code.

Film Making- This course will cover the fundamentals of making a film, teaching campers how to prepare for a shoot, use video equipment, and edit projects on Adobe Premiere. Campers will gain experience in all stages of production while completing their own video project.

Session 3: Gaming/Minecraft & Graphic Design (Ages 7-15)
Minecraft - The course will enhance creativity, problem-solving, self-direction, collaboration, and other life skills. Students will learn the fundamentals of creating their own levels in a wide-open Minecraft world.

Graphic Design - This course will give students a basic understanding of graphic design and programs used in the field, such as Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator and Canva. The learners' final project will reinforce their understanding of graphic design with a final poster project.

Deposit and Cancellation Policy

To reserve your spot, there is a $55 non-refundable deposit. (The deposit will include one (1) camp T-shirt)

Cancellation requests must be made at least 7 days prior to the session start date and must be made via the email attached to the account profile.

Cancellations will receive a credit for the balance paid, minus the non-refundable deposit. All credits are good for one year.

There are no refunds on camp deposits or payments.

In the event that Metro Media Camp cancels a session, tuition (including the deposit) will be refunded.

COVID-19 Policies 

At Metro Media Summer Camp, we put the health and safety of our campers first, and as such, we take COVID-19 precautions very seriously.

We are continually monitoring the best practices to stop the spread of COVID-19 and will update our policies accordingly.

Vaccinations

All members of our staff are vaccinated, and we are requesting that all campers who are eligible also be vaccinated. 

Masks

Wearing masks is OPTIONAL (exceptions include when eating, filming, etc.).

Cleaning and Hygiene 

Hand sanitizer, tissues, and wipes will be available in all areas and workstations to allow for frequent use.

Hand-washing will occur between activities or when a camper leaves their workstation.

All surfaces will be sanitized frequently throughout the day, and a deeper cleaning will take place at the end of each day.

Computers, keyboards, mice, monitors, and chairs will be wiped down between uses and before and after any food is consumed.

Dismissal from Activity:

If any staff member or camper experiences sickness or feels ill, we urge them to stay home and/or will dismiss them for the day.

If a camper tests positive for COVID-19, then they are required to stay home for the duration of their illness, and parents/guardians are required to inform Metro Media Summer Camp immediately.
